Little Miss Olivia is 27 weeks gestation today. She is as cute as ever and is showing her personality more and more each day. She weighed in at 1 lb 8 oz this morning. After a break for surgery, they started feeding her breast milk again on Saturday. She is getting 24ml a day and this number will increase depending on how well she is digesting. Please continue to pray that she tolerates her feeds!

Snoozing away.
All snuggled up.
Really ticked off during her assessment. She does NOT like being messed with! :)
Look at that expression! Finally settling down after her diaper change. The score, if you're keeping track, is now Daddy 3, Mommy 2.
Already saying her prayers. ;) Have I mentioned how much I love her hands?
Daddy calming Liv down.
Look who found her fingers!

ReplyDeleteJust came across your blog this afternoon and have spent some time catching up. My heart aches for your sweet family as you have already had the weight of the world on your shoulders for being parents for so short a time. I have already said a few prayers for Olivia and will continue to pray for her in the coming months as she navigates her way through the NICU. Specifically praying for no long term effects from such an early birth. Thankfully, we serve a God of miracles and healing...not a God of statistics.
ReplyDeleteMy son Samuel was born at barely 24 weeks...and although it's been quite a journey, his life has been such a blessing to us, and to many others. There is nothing like seeing the body of Christ come together in prayer.
Wishing you many miracles in the days to come. Please let me know if you need anything. My email is ssuzclark@hotmail.com and the blog we have for our micro preemie is samuelpope.blogspot.com

I was just wondering how long she is. I love all the photos, she is a cutie, that's for sure!!
ReplyDeleteMare! She's growing so big and strong...and more and more beautiful with every passing day! We are continuing to lift you all up in prayer! Thanks for keeping us all posted so that we know how to pray specifically!
ReplyDeleteLove to you guys! --Chelsea
I came across your blog last night and found myself sobbing on the couch. My heart is truly aching for the losses that you, your husband, and your daughter have experienced. I'll be thinking of your family and keeping you all in my prayers! Baby Olivia is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI adore the bow and the pictures where we can see your and Reid's hands with her. When we were little my dad would take us to look at the babies he delivered. I remember so much the mommies sitting in the NICU lovingly watching their babies. You are of course in our thoughts and I'm so happy to check in on you all through your blog and know how you are doing.

I am a neonatal nurse practitioner in a NICU in NE. One of my NICU graduate families showed me your blog. I have been thinking about you and praying for you. The NICU is an enviornment that is almost impossible to describe to others. I think I become a better NNP when I am able to catch a glimpse of what our parents experience- so thank you for sharing. I am also a born-again believer in Jesus Christ. What an amazing testimony you have shared. You have really made me examine my faith and evaluate my trust in the Lord. I will continue to pray for you and for sweet Olivia. I have seen many miracles in the NICU and I pray that she will continue to be strong and grow! I hope you can hold her soon- kangaroo care does amazing things.
